Monumento Natural MONÓLITOS de QUIXADÁ

São 16.000 ha de área, com formações rochosas conhecidas como inselbergs, inseridas no município de Quixadá, Sertão Central. Raras, belas e singulares, as rochas da terra da escritora Rachel de Queiroz têm a sua preservação a serviço da ciência, da cultura e da integração radical com a natureza – para além do verde, das águas, das terras comumente incluídas. Como Unidade de Conservação Ambiental estabelecida em 2002, pelo Decreto Estadual 26.805/2002, a região pode receber um turismo histórico e ecológico ordenado por regras e convenções de sustentabilidade e constante aprendizado. Preservar os monólitos é determinante para o equilíbrio ecológico do Sertão. Além de garantir para as gerações atuais e vindouras a visão de magnífica beleza cênica – qualidade de vida em múltiplas dimensões (social, econômica, estética), beneficiando as comunidades locais e os visitantes.

Natural Monument “MONÓLITOS DE QUIXADÁ”

It encompasses 16,000 hectares of land with rock formations known as inselbergs, located in the municipality of Quixadá, in the Central Sertão. Rare, beautiful, and unique, the rocks in the land of the writer Rachel de Queiroz are preserved in the service of science, culture, and radical integration with nature – beyond the greenery, water, and commonly included lands. Established as an Environmental Conservation Unit in 2002 by State Decree No. 26,805/2002, the region can receive historical and ecological tourism guided by rules and sustainability conventions, fostering continuous learning. Preserving the monoliths is crucial for the ecological balance of the Sertão. In addition to ensuring the current and future generations the view of magnificent scenic beauty – quality of life in multiple dimensions (social, economic, aesthetic), benefiting local communities and visitors.
