Monumento Natural GRUTA CASA de PEDRA

Uma grande caverna com sinuosas galerias, salões, claraboias e labirintos, inserida no bioma Caatinga, entre os municípios de Madalena e Itatira, no Sertão Central do Ceará. Estamos falando do Monumento Natural Gruta Casa de Pedra, uma joia rara de grande valor histórico, espeleológico e arqueológico. Criado pelo Decreto Estadual nº 33.766, de 2021, a unidade de conservação reúne beleza e biodiversidade numa área de 65,51 hectares, importante tanto para o desenvolvimento econômico regional quanto para a pesquisa acadêmica e científica. Abriga, também, as famílias do Projeto de Assentamento Umarizeira, mantido pelo INCRA. O turismo controlado e a disciplina no uso dos recursos ambientais são norteadores de uma nova forma de buscar qualidade de vida, com ações interativas e consciência ecológica. Este projeto contou com recursos do Fundo de Defesa dos Direitos Difusos do Estado do Ceará (FDID) e participação efetiva de representantes de instituições governamentais e da sociedade civil.

Natural Monument “CASA DE PEDRA” CAVE

A large cave with winding galleries, halls, skylights, and labyrinths, nestled in the Caatinga biome between the municipalities of Madalena and Itatira in the Central Sertão of Ceará. We are talking about the Natural Monument “Casa de Pedra” Cave, a rare jewel of great historical, speleological, and archaeological value. Created by State Decree No. 33,766 in 2021, the conservation unit brings together beauty and biodiversity in an area of 65.51 hectares, important for both regional economic development and academic and scientific research. It also houses the families of the Umarizeira Settlement Project, maintained by INCRA. Controlled tourism and discipline in the use of environmental resources guide a new way of seeking quality of life, with interactive actions and ecological awareness. This project received funding from the Fund for the Defense of Diffuse Rights of the State of Ceará (FDDRCE) and active participation from representatives of government institutions and civil society.
