Área de Relevante Interesse Ecológico SÍTIO DO CURIÓ

A Floresta do Curió é tida como o último enclave de Mata Atlântica de Fortaleza, em zona urbana. Foi criada pelo Decreto Estadual nº 28.233/2006, com 58,35 hectares. A presença do bioma proporciona um microclima que garante conforto térmico privilegiado na região. A vegetação abriga, ainda, muitas espécies animais de pequeno porte, vertebrados e invertebrados. É possível visitar a ARIE e expandir pesquisas científicas sobre seu acervo natural.

The Curió Forest is considered the last enclave of the Atlantic Forest in Fortaleza, in an urban area. Created by State Decree No. 28,233/2006, covering 58.35 hectares. The presence of the biome provides a microclimate that guarantees privileged thermal comfort in the region. The vegetation also shelters many small animal species, both vertebrates and invertebrates. It is possible to visit the AREI and expand scientific research on its natural collection.
