Área de Relevante Interesse Ecológico FAZENDA RAPOSA

O Decreto Estadual nº 33.568 de 2020 criou esta Área de Relevante Interesse Ecológico (ARIE), cujo bioma é a Mata de Tabuleiro Litorânea. São 136,65 ha no município de Maracanaú, próximo à Fortaleza. Compatibilizar a proteção da natureza com o uso sustentável de seus recursos foi o objetivo central, bem como proteger a maior coleção de copernícias da América Latina. A Lagoa Jupaba e a Lagoa Raposa integram a ARIE, junto com os riachos que as formam e as alimentam. A presença exuberante de uma coleção de carnaúbas – árvore símbolo do Ceará – dá à região ainda mais relevância. Os estudos de criação foram elaborados com o apoio do Centro de Ciências Agrárias, da Universidade Federal do Ceará (UFC).

FAZENDA RAPOSA Ecologically Relevant Area

State Decree No. 33,568 of 2020 created this Ecologically Relevant Area (AREI), whose biome is the Coastal Tableland Forest. It covers 136.65 hectares in the municipality of Maracanaú, near Fortaleza. The central goal was to reconcile nature protection with the sustainable use of its resources, as well as to protect the largest collection of carnauba palms in Latin America. The Jupaba Lagoon and Raposa Lagoon are part of the AREI, along with the streams that form and feed them. The exuberant presence of a collection of carnauba palms – the symbol tree of Ceará – gives the region even more relevance. The creation studies were elaborated with the support of the Agricultural Sciences Center, Federal University of Ceará (FUC).
