Área de Relevante Interesse Ecológico do CAMBEBA

Seus 11 ha estão inseridos no ecossistema de Mata de Tabuleiro Litorâneo. Está localizada no bairro do Cambeba – nome de origem tupi-guarani, que denominava uma tribo também chamada de Omágua. Criada em 2018, por meio do Decreto Estadual nº 32.843, que definiu a ARIE para garantir a proteção da fauna e flora nativas, assegurando as condições para a sua reprodução, especialmente. Outros fatores importantes são a preservação dos remanescentes de Mata Atlântica e fragmentos de vegetação natural diversificada, assim como os cuidados com o curso hídrico do Riacho da Levada. Por fim, e essencial, a medida visa oferecer à população um espaço natural, para contemplação, lazer e pesquisa científica.
