Área de Proteção Ambiental do LAGAMAR do CAUÍPE

A beleza iluminada da APA do Lagamar do Cauípe, com as dunas móveis na margem direita do Rio Cauípe e as dunas fixas na margem esquerda, é marcada, também, pelo sangradouro do rio e pela vegetação nativa, que compreende verdejantes cajueiros, muricis, mutambas, pinhões bravos e azeitonas do mato. Foi criada pelo decreto nº 24.957/1998. A APA se localiza no município de Caucaia, com extensão territorial de 1.884,46 hectares. Por ficar na zona de influência do Complexo do Pecém (CIPP) e na zona de amortecimento da Estação Ecológica do Pecém, o Lagamar do Cauípe é considerado um ponto estratégico prioritário para a preservação regional e um corredor ecológico para diversos animais, como pequenos répteis, mamíferos herbívoros e aves, além de artrópodes.

Environmental Protection Area of CAUÍPE LAGOON

The illuminated beauty of the EPA of Cauípe Lagoon, with mobile dunes on the right bank of the Cauípe River and fixed dunes on the left bank, is also marked by the river’s spillway and native vegetation, including lush cashew trees, mutambas, pine nuts, and olives. Created by decree nº 24,957/1998, the EPA is located in Caucaia, with a territorial extension of 1,884.46 hectares. Being in the influence zone of the Pecém Complex (PC) and in the buffer zone of the Pecém Ecological Station, Cauípe Lagoon is considered a priority strategic point for regional preservation and an ecological corridor for various animals, such as small reptiles, herbivorous mammals, and birds, as well as arthropods.
